James Thuo

Regional Finance Director

James K. Thuo is a passionate, efficient, result-oriented, and self-driven professional practicing accountant with over 10 years of experience in funds dynamism, audit, and financial consultancy. I am a member of ICPAK, a holder of a bachelor’s degree in business management -Finance and Banking Option- First class honors.

My expertise spreads across donor-funded projects, the not-for-profit sector, forensic audits, value-for-money assessments, systems reviews, due diligence, capacity assessments, and statutory audits. James has admirable expertise in the preparation of organization policies and procedure manuals, designing and implementation of internal controls, developing and monitoring of budgeting, review of complex procurement, analysis of organization risk policy and risk register, and review of compliance with the taxation of different countries, review of information technology systems and project monitoring and work plan review.

I have conducted various assignments for World bank, UNICEF, UNHCR, UNFPA, UNOPS,UN-Women, UNDP,SIDA, EU ,UNOCHA,OXFAM, DANIDA, ranging from forensic audit, spot check, capacity assessment, EC Pillar assessments, internal control audits, procurement audits, micro-assessment, project audit, expenditure verification, financial audits, fund audits, systems, and risk audits.
Over the years I have worked with many organization notably Baker Tilly Meralis, Mazars International, Lexan and Associates, PKF, Rockville Consulting, Arthur Consulting among other firms and companies. I have worked and conducted short assignments in the following countries: Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, South Sudan, Somalia, Somaliland, Eswatini and South Africa.

James Joined E4IMPACT team in May 2023 as a Regional Finance Manager. His overall responsibility is to ensure funds utilization efficiency, accountability, Reliable systems, accurate Financial reports and Compliance with regulatory authorities and donor conditions.
