Restoration Factory

The Restoration Factory is an innovative incubation program that aims to support Kenyan eco-entrepreneurs (ecopreneurs) who are working on developing restoration projects. The program was created by the World Agroforestry Centre (ICRAF) in collaboration with the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN).

About the program

The Restoration Factory is an innovative incubation program that aims to support Kenyan eco-entrepreneurs (ecopreneurs) who are working on developing restoration projects. The program was created by the World Agroforestry Centre (ICRAF) in collaboration with the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN). E4Impact then took in 24 ecopreneurs for incubation for a duration of eight months where they went through a 8 modules curriculum to build a robust value proposition and business strategy for their restoration venture.

The top 11 ecopreneurs from the program had the opportunity to connect with companies that operate in different value chains focused on nature. They were also introduced and allowed access to the Restoration MarketPlace; an online platform where they can register and get access to markets, financial advisors and investors throughout the world. The Center, in collaboration with the program partners, is continuously offering technical support in form of training, mentorship, market and partners linkages etc., to the ecopreneurs.
